P90X Day 11 Completed: P90X Yoga X

P90X Yoga X Crane
Ahhhhhhh! I just completed an intense, but very relaxing day 11 of my P90X workout. Today was Yoga X. It was definitely tough for me doing some of poses, but I feel like I did a lot better then P90X day 4. I even enjoyed Yoga X today!
I pretty much have the moving asanas down (at least I think I do) but I did struggle with the Half Moon, Twisting Half Moon, Triangle Pose, Twisting Triangle, and the Standing Splits (there may be more, that’s all I can remember). I get off balance very easily and I’m also not very flexible, so I think those will just take time for me to get better at. Oh, and of course I can’t even get close to doing the Crane. I think it would be so cool if by the end of P90X I could do the Crane! It would be a HUGE testament to the P90X program if I could accomplish that!
I really enjoyed Yoga X today. The very first time I did Yoga X on P90X day 4, I found myself starring at the timer thinking when, “When will this be over?!” It seemed like it went on forever! However, today I focused my energy more on the poses and I really tried to clear my mind and “live in the moment” as Tony Horton says to do.
I turned the ringer off on my cell phone, shut the door to my home office (you can see into our home office from downstairs if the door is left open; just seeing it while I’m doing my workout makes me think of everything I need to do) and really just focused on the task at hand. Of course though someone had to call our home phone while I was doing Yoga X, but I paused the P90X DVD, dealt with the call and quickly got back to the workout. I also did my best to ignore the timer; they should have an option so you can turn the timer off on Yoga X. Taking those extra steps to shut off the world around me really helped me get through this workout and made it much more enjoyable.
Nutrition for today-
Breakfast: Bowl of Fiber One cereal, and a protein shake.
Mid-Morning: Protein shake.
Lunch: Pan fried salmon (in extra virgin olive oil), and a cup of black beans.
Mid-Afternoon: Strawberry Smoothie with 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed, 1 scoop of protein powder, and skim milk (not sure how much, just filled up the cup).
Dinner: Pan fried salmon (in extra virgin olive oil), and a salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil & balsamic vinegar dressing. I had lots of salmon today because I thawed out two fillets of salmon on Tuesday. We ended up not eating them, so I ate them today so they wouldn’t go bad.
After-Dinner: Protein shake.
Tomorrow is day 12 of P90X so that means Legs and Back, and Ab Ripper X. I’m really looking forward to those wall squats! NOT! :-)

I think you have a typo. You say in your first paragraph “Day 10″ though you meant Day 11.
I am kind of looking forward to Yoga…kind of not. Its a long program and I keep feeling my days are shrinking, but I know it has to be completed.
Thanks for catching that! For some reason I had in my head that yesterday was day 10 (even though I knew it was Yoga day) and I kept typing it everywhere. Thanks again!
That’s the one hard thing about Yoga- finding time to get it in.
I did the watch a movie thing while doing Yoga. Recommendation, don’t watch a movie you have never seen before while doing it. Some of the angles you are in don’t allow you to see the screen very well :). Plus if you can’t hear, its hard to know when to switch positions at times.
The shoulder stands(forget the name). Hurt me pretty bad today. I think it retweaked my back a bit. It doesn’t feel terrible though, so I’m hoping it will be gone tommorow.
The Yoga might have relaxed me for my poker game tonight. Ended up coming home with 80 more than when I started. Maybe its just a different mindset in general after starting the journey.
Congrats on yet another successful day sir.
Oh and did you have to mention the One Legged Wall Squats :(
Yeaaaa…Sorry about that! I’m not looking forward to those!!!!!!!!
lol! That’s a good point! At least maybe it helped you through it!
Hopefully your back is ok! Some of the moves are pretty crazy so it’s easy to pull something or tweak something wrong.
Congrats on doing well in poker! Sounds like Yoga is working for you!! Who knew you could make money by just doing the workouts! :)
Great job again too!
Oh another recommendation, watching Saw VI is a terrible choice. Sitting in those awkward positions and watching a bone snap on TV is mildly disturbing.
watching the movie while sitting on the couch is medium disturbing, let alone contorting your body into bone breaking moves :) that is a whole other level :)
LOL! That is really funny! Yea, I could definitely see that being a very bad choice! That’s totally something I would do.
Did Yoga yesterday morning and did a lot better than the first time. I forwarded the first 20 min and started there. Seemed to go by a lot faster than last week. Will set a goal of starting closer and closer to the beginning. Hubby still hates it but is keeping up with whatever I have done. Definately good to have a partner doing it at the same time.
Yoga was really hard for me too when I started! Just keep doing your best and you will get better at it!
So I ended up skipping yoga yesterday. I planned on being home by 8 and finishing up the video by 10, but before I knew it it was 1am! I just finished yoga, and I plan on doing legs & back a little later tonight. NO EXCUSES. My “day 11″ is complete.
Good! Definitely don’t let any excuses get in the way…JUST DO IT!
