P90X Day 25 Completed: X Stretch

P90X X Stretch Cat Stretch
I just finished day 25 of my P90X workout. Today was X Stretch, so it was a very easy day! I really tried to focus on getting a good stretch with each of the moves. They were all pretty straightforward and felt good, but the wrist stretches were somewhat painful like usual.
All of this stretching with P90X has definitely helped my flexibility. Today during the Seated Single-Leg Hamstring stretch, I was able to touch the toes of my right foot (my hands were pulling them forward as far as they would go so I could touch them). That’s something that I have never been able to do! I wasn’t able to touch the toes of my left foot, but I’m sure that will come with time. This really is the most I have ever stretched, and it’s paying off! My wife was even surprised how well I was doing the Side Twist.
I’m excited to do Core Synergistics tomorrow! It’s a hard workout, but I really want to feel that burn and feel some soreness the next day. When I’m sore like that, I know I got a great workout. After Core Synergistics, then it’s Yoga X again on Friday, and then Rest or X Stretch on Saturday. Then the recovery week will be officially over and I’ll be moving into P90X week 5! Time is flying by!!!
For anyone who is doing P90X, keep up the hard work! It will pay off!!!

Congrats on the continued progress. That is awesome.
Yea, I have been bad at doing X Stretch..I tend to rest on those days thus far. I am fairly flexible and can get my palms almost completely past my toes. I will be using a yoga block very soon.
I think you said you felt your arms were short…so that doesn’t help if you are trying to touch your toes, but does help during chinups :)
Thanks!!
Wow! That’s pretty crazy if you’re going to have to use a Yoga block…I really feel like it would be a loooonnng time before I ever got to that point. That’s awesome that you’re so flexible!
lol….I’m just short overall! :-) What’s the name of the crazy flexible lady on the P90X DVD’s? I think she’s in the X Stretch?
Oddly enough, for my size, I’m extremely flexible. I can still put my legs behind my head if dared.
I’m glad you are seeing progress though. It’s always nice no matter how small.
Wow!! I’ve never been able to put my legs behind my back! That’s awesome that you’re that flexible!
Thanks…My flexibility is slowly but surely increasing!
Hey Jonathan,
I know these posts are from last year, but I wanted to tell you I’m on day 25 and have been following your progress as you went through your first P90x go-around. It’s been cool seeing someone get the results, yet go through the same struggles as I am now.
Quick question though… did you get a lot of lower back stiffness during phase I?
Thanks! and keep it up
Congrats Ray for getting to day 25 of P90X!! I also appreciate the kind words…
If you mean that your lower back is sore, then yes, after the workouts that used my back and lower back I was very sore during my first round of P90X. I think just about every muscle in my body was sore most of the time during my first 90 days of P90X! :-) It sounds like you may need to do some extra stretching before and after the workouts. That should help alleviate some of the stiffness/soreness. If you feel any sharp pain or anything unusual then it would definitely be a good idea to see your doc. Hope that helps buddy! Keep pushing play with P90X!
