P90X Day 37 Completed: P90X Plyometrics

P90X Plyometrics
Today is day 37 of my P90X workout, and I just finished Plyometrics. It kicked my butt like usual, but I feel like I’m making some good progress with this workout. All of the different variations of squats always kill my legs, but today I was able to get through more of the squat exercises without stopping.
I got through all of the reps during both sets of the first sequence (Jump Squat, Run-Stance Squat, Airborne Heisman & Swing Kick), and I almost made it through all of the reps during both sets of the second sequence (Squat Reach Jump, Run-Stance Squat Switch Pick-up, Double Airborne Heisman, & Circle Run). I think it was during the second set of the Run-Stance Squat Switch Pick-up that I had to stop towards the end of the exercise to give my legs a break.
The remaining exercises went really good. I had to stop from time to time during the remaining squats to take a break, but I think I’m slowly getting better at them. It will be crazy when the day comes that I can get through all of the exercises without stopping. At that point, I’ll know I’m in pretty good shape!!
Nutrition for today-
Breakfast: Bowl of Fiber One cereal, and a protein shake.
Mid-Morning: Glass of 100% grape juice.
Lunch: Turkey sandwich with provolone cheese, and extra virgin olive oil dressing. Also had a protein shake.
Mid-Afternoon: Protein shake & P90X Recovery drink after Plyometrics.
Dinner: Tonight my wife and I are actually going to be eating at Chick-fil-a for dinner. She is going on a mission trip to Mexico with her church during the summer to build some homes. Chick-fil-a is donating a portion of the proceeds from tonight to help support the trip. I’m going to look on their website prior to going to figure out what I should get. I’ll probably be getting some type of salad or a grilled chicken sandwich.
After-Dinner: Protein shake.

tomorrow I start my “Recovery” week with Yoga..! Dont know why the call it recovery since Yoga makes me sweat more the any push/pull ups! :) So far I’m loving my p90x workouts!!
Congrats! Yea, yoga X is pretty tough. Core Synergistics is also another hard workout that you’ll be doing during your P90X Recovery Week. You’ll do great though! Keep pushing yourself during the workouts and keep up the great work!!
So, I’m finally doing it. I am giving up soda. I have drank 2-3 a day for several years. I’m starting a no soda policy. I gave away the 24 pack to my nephew that was sitting in my fridge(setting a healthy example huh, I’m sure my sister will be mad at me.) I decided that this was part of the reason I’m not getting the results I wanted from P90X. So, adios my sugary deliciousness.
Onto my workout, I don’t feel very sore today with is partially encouraging and somewhat disturbing. It means that I’m improving, but it also means I didn’t give it my all. I knew I didnt when the hour ended yesterday. No point in dwelling on that though, gotta move on and work harder today.
Your results from Plyo seem to be improving every week. Congrats on that. Soon you will have the legs of 10 oxen! Or maybe just one….or maybe just a really in shape guy.
Good job!!! That was really hard for me to give up as well. I used to drink at least one can a day of Coca-Cola or a high caffeine soda like Mountain Dew. I just loved the sugar and the caffeine! That’s funny that you gave them to your nephew!! Great job again for giving soda up!
Yea, I agree…The only thing you can do is move on and push harder next time.

hey jonathan i was wondering what protien shake or drink u use? i want to buy some to start using but the ones i have used in the past are disgusting. i need something that i wont mind drinkin for months or years to come. are there any pills that contain the same stuff? hmmm
I use Beachbody’s Whey protein powder. I think it tastes great and it mixes easily. I buy the Vanilla flavor, because personally I like the Vanilla flavor better and I can even mix it with just water (if I don’t have any milk), and it still tastes great. Also, since it’s vanilla flavored, I can add it to smoothies to add some extra protein and it actually makes the smoothie taste better.

Oh yea…I forgot to mention, that I haven’t seen any protein pills. :-) If they do exist, I would bet they would pretty expensive compared to the protein powder.
Just completed Cardio X with hubby. Right now it’s all about scheduling. We put the 2 babies down for the night, turned on the cartoons for the 2 older kids and went down to the basement to Bring It. I can truly say that I think that I’m inspiring some people at work to get moving. They’re noticing the changes and are asking more questions. Great feeling. We’ll see if anyone is willing to commit to 90 days though. ..

well I must say, I am pretty impressed sir, If i was going to chic-fil-a for dinner (which i might now) I would most likely get 2 (12pack nuggets) and an order of fries. then possibly a vanilla cone, this is probably why I am 5’5 and 250..
lol…Yea it’s a total lifestyle and mind shift that you’ll definitely get. It just takes time and commitment. You won’t be perfect (i’m definitely not) but there are some small daily changes that you can make that add up to huge massive changes over time. Chick-fil-a has got some awesome Grilled Chicken Sandwiches which is what I normally get. I also substitute the fries for a cup of fruit. Just do your best Joe and think about your “why” for getting fit and healthy with P90X. That is what will help drive change in your life. Have an AWESOME evening buddy!
