P90X Yoga X Half Moon

P90X Yoga X Half Moon

I just finished my P90X workout for the day, Yoga X! It felt great to do Yoga X first thing this morning. It was also very easy to focus exclusively on Yoga X since it’s Sunday and the only thing I’m doing today is going to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.

Today I didn’t even cover up the timer with a piece of paper (to prevent myself from becoming anxious to finish the workout). Days like today where I have very little planned are far and few between, but it’s always nice to have days like this! All of the poses and stretches during Yoga X went great! I got as deep as I could into all of the moves. I did stumble like usual during the Half Moon and Twisting Half Moon, but I was able to hold the poses briefly on each side. It felt like I was able to hold the Crane a lot longer than usual. I would say I held it for a good 20 seconds or so today before falling out of it.

Yoga Belly 7 also felt great! During the last Touch the Sky I tried to increase the height of my arms and legs as high as possible during each 20 second interval. By the time I got to the last interval my arms, legs, and abs were shaking like crazy as I kept trying to push myself higher and higher.

Only 5 more days left of P90X! I want to myself as hard as I can during these last few days (even though it’s a Recovery Week) to maximize my P90X results!

Nutrition for today-

Breakfast: Bowl of Fiber One cereal and a protein shake.

Mid-Morning: Protein shake.

Lunch: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Mid-Afternoon: Protein shake or some beef jerky.

Dinner: Since we’ll be at Busch Gardens for the day, I’m not sure what I’ll be having for dinner. We may end up going to the Smokehouse and getting some BBQ. If we do that, I’ll probably share a meal with my wife (it’s very easy for me to overindulge in beef brisket, barbecue chicken, etc. since I love it so much).

After-Dinner: Protein shake.

  1. Since nobody else has commented, I will. Congratulations on making it this far. You inspire me every day to keep pushing play. Today was my rest day and I went for a 10km run. I had an amazing run! Best time ever. Thank you P90x cardio. Keep up the good work. Any plans to continue once this round is done? My brother and wife finished their first round, went to Vegas and indulged and are now starting round 2 tomorrow. We’re looking at Insanity for the summer.

    • Thanks! I appreciate it! It’s flown by and I still can’t believe I’m almost done!

Great job for running a 10km run! I always give a lot of credit to people who can run like that. It takes a ton of endurance and discipline!

Yes, I’m definitely going to continue going after this first round of P90X. My plans for now are to give myself a few weeks of rest after I finish this first round, and then I’m going to go ahead and do another round of P90X. Once I finish that round, I think I’m going to do a combination of P90X and Insanity (I’m going to use the insanity program as cardio, but continue to do the strength training within P90X). Let me know how Insanity goes for you since you may start before I do. I’m going to try to get my wife to do the Insanity/P90X Combo with me. She’s starting P90X Lean hopefully next Sunday.

  2. I have absolutely terrible news! It looks like we won’t be finishing P90X together…and I was so damn close to the finish line. Last night playing softball I was coming into homeplate and it was slick for whatever reason, my foot went out from under me leg went awkward and i felt something wrong immediately. I just got back from the doc and I have a strained quad. He said it would take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to heal fully, depending on how quickly my body recovers. I’m praying for 2 weeks. I will say this shit hurts like hell, and walking around with a crutch just plain sucks.

Worst part is…it was done playing softball :(. How non-manly can it get…I might as well been having a tea party with my niece. Wish I had a better story like I was trying to lift a car off a person it had ran over. Or, I got into an indian leg wrestling competition with a kangaroo.

With two weeks(optimistically) of not being able to work out…I might as well just start over.

    • 5 frickin days away from completion.

      • This just a Recovery Week though…the hardest workout is Core Synergistics. I would be pretty upset too if I were in your position, but I’d say that you finished your first round of P90X. You’ve definitely accomplished a lot this first round of P90X so don’t forget how far you’ve come.

You ought to let your quad heal fully and then come back strong and do another round of P90X. You could even use this time to try to work on your upper body (as long as you’re not putting any pressure on your quad) and you could do some pull ups/push ups etc. Also don’t forget to maintain your high protein diet.

I hope your quad gets better as soon as possible!! Keep me updated on your progress or any workouts you do!

    • Dang!!! I ‘m sorry to hear that!!!

lol!!! Yea, the lifting a car off of a person would of been pretty cool!!! It’s all good…stuff like that happens! I’m sure it could have been a lot worse! When two weeks has passed, just don’t over do it! Take it easy and make sure to let it heal fully so you don’t injure it again.
