Week 11 of the P90X workout is over and week 12 has begun! This is the last week of the main workouts, and then I go into the final Recovery Week! My wife, Jen started P90X with me and this past Friday she left to go on a mission trip with her church for a week. When we originally started this round of P90X (this is my second round and this is her first round) we thought we had scheduled it so she would only miss the last Recovery Week. Obviously we screwed up and can’t count so she will unfortunately miss this week of P90X.
When she gets back from the mission trip she is immediately going to start training for a half marathon that is in a few months. For her training she is going to do a modified version of Insanity along with weekly runs. So that means she is done P90X for now! While she wasn’t able to do the entire P90X program she has had some awesome results. When she gets back we plan on re-taking her measurements and her pictures to get her final P90X results.
Sorry for the long hiatus I’ve had from posting updates on my P90X workout blog! The past few weeks have been absolutely crazy and I’m finally almost caught up on everything. I just finished my Coast Guard 2 weeks of active duty (I’m in the Coast Guard Reserves) on Friday. Also, this weekend a good buddy of mine got married. I was a Groomsmen in his wedding and it was a fun, action packed weekend. It’s nice though to finally be able to sit down and take a breath!
I just finished Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps for the last time until round 2 of the P90X workout! I was hoping to push through this workout with lots of energy and excitement (since this is the last week of resistance training), but I was unfortunately pretty tired and struggled to get through the workout. I got a horrible night’s sleep last night (maybe about 4 to 5 hours). It was just one of those nights where I was tossing and turning all night. I got pretty close to pausing the workout and finishing it later, but I decided to keep pushing forward!

P90X One Arm Push Ups
It is day 64 of my P90X workout and I just completed Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, & Ab Ripper X! It felt great to do my workout today especially after all the crap I ate this weekend during my Coast Guard drills! Today I made sure to take in plenty of calories prior to my workout to prevent a repeat of P90X day 36 (which is the last time I had my Coast Guard drills and when I totally crashed from a lack of energy).
Day 43 of my P90X workout is finally over! Today I did Ab Ripper X earlier in the afternoon, and I just finished Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. I would have done the workouts back to back, but I couldn’t miss USA play Canada in the Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey game. I really thought we were going to pull it out after that amazing shot by Zach Parise. When he made that shot my wife and both jumped off the couch screaming with excitement and our dog started running around the Living Room in circles. It was a major disappointment when Canada scored during overtime.

P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps Weighted Circles
I just completed day 36 of my P90X workout! Today was Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, and Ab Ripper X. I was actually pretty disappointed on how I did with Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps today. For the most part I did the same number of reps as I did last week, but I was able to increase the weight and add a few reps here and there (mainly in the beginning of the workout). I feel like I should have been able to push out more reps during more of the exercises. About a quarter of the way through the workout, I just totally crashed and I had no energy whatsoever. I also developed a really bad headache.
