P90X Plyometrics

P90X Plyometrics was one of those workouts that I initially dreaded and HATED when I first started P90X. Why did I dread P90X Plyometrics? Because it targeted my two weakest points…cardio and my legs. When I first started P90X I had little endurance (I hated running and I’m still not a big fan today), and I had little dinky legs with not much leg strength.

So after I did P90X Plyometrics for the very first time I literally could barely walk the next day due to pain from the soreness. Has that happened to you with P90X Plyometrics? Have you done P90X Plyometrics and then been super extremely sore from it the next day and had a hard time walking?

That is very normal with “P90X Plyometrics” especially if you’re doing it for the first time. For a lot of people (myself included) when doing this workout for the first time, it’s one of the hardest workouts you’ve ever done. You just don’t do stuff like this in gym class! :-)Continue reading

Heidi’s P90X Journey – P90X Week 3

This is a guest post by Heidi.

I made it through P90X Plyometrics this week!  Can I get a whoop whoop..?   There is a move in there that gives me a whole new respect for Molly Shannon.  Appropriately called the “Mary Katherines”,  they are lunges where you hop back and forth between right leg in front and left leg in front.  Good lord, that’s difficult.  I remember when Molly Shannon did those in her MK skits on SNL, and it didn’t look hard at all.  It looked funny, yes.  Hard, no.  Trust me, they are hard.  The version of MK on P90x doesn’t include the hands in the armpits, though, so that made them a little easier.

Heidi’s P90X Journey – Week 1 Completed!

This is a guest post by Heidi.

Week 1 – Completed!

Well, I have survived the first week of P90X.  I had good days and bad, but just the fact that I completed the whole week with no injuries, no diet disasters, no crying and no quitting makes me quite pleased with myself.

heidi's p90x journeySomehow I convinced my 16 year old daughter to join me, and she has been quite a trooper.  She’s done several of the workouts with me,  she and her sister both did the initial fit test, and they’ve both been willing to try new foods, which is very strange for them.  We have always been carboholics.   Eating chicken and vegetables is a new concept.  I have to say, I’m quite proud – and somewhat shocked –  that they’re playing along so willingly.  Thanks, girls!

This Week’s P90X Insanity Workout Schedule

I hope you had an awesome weekend! I wanted to make a quick post to commit to this week’s workouts by telling the world my P90X workout schedule for this week. I finished my second round of P90X a little over two weeks ago, and I plan on doing a P90X Insanity hybrid next. These past few weeks have been absolutely crazy, so I haven’t been able to commit to starting the hybrid yet (probably won’t be awhile before I will be able to start). During the past few weeks, I’ve basically been doing an assortment of P90X & Insanity workouts. There have honestly been days though where I haven’t worked out at all, so I’m really anxious to start the hybrid so I will have a set program to follow daily.

Here is this week’s schedule of workouts that I’m going to do-

P90X Week 13

P90X Pull Up Tree Limb

Jen doing her P90X Pull Ups!

I am officially at the last week of my second round of the P90X workout! My wife Jen is also back from her mission trip to Buckingham, Virginia! :-) She went there with a pretty big group from her church to help do home repairs for people in need in the community. Check out the picture of her showing off her pull ups to everyone on a tree limb!

She is home for about a week and then she is leaving again to go to Jamaica for a week on another mission trip! This trip she is going with a smaller group from her church. She loves helping out others, and I’m extremely proud of her for what she’s been doing.

So back to P90X! Last week should have been an awesome week of workouts since it was the last week of the main workouts, but honestly I don’t feel I did my best during some of the workouts. As you may have read during my P90X Week 12 update post I started the week off not having much motivation to workout. I still did the workout and pushed through it, but it was a constant mental battle. Then on Thursday (Legs & Back day), it wasn’t that I didn’t want to workout, it just wasn’t on the top of my priority list.  When I finally started doing the workout, I honestly probably only gave 50% effort. I did just enough to get by so I could get the workout done and continue with the things I needed to get done.

3 Ways P90X Could Help You Survive a Zombie Outbreak

P90X Could Help You Survive a Zombie Outbreak

What if there was a Zombie outbreak in your hometown, or even worse, an outbreak across the world? What would you do, how would you survive?!? Well, the good news is that you’ve been doing the P90X workout, or you’re about to start the P90X workout. By doing P90X, you’ll have a huge advantage over our dead cousins. The bad news, is that per the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks, zombies live off of living human flesh (pretty disgusting, huh!?!) so you’ll have to be prepared to defend yourself. Below are 3 ways P90X could help you survive a Zombie outbreak.Continue reading
