Good job!! Being out in the sun for long periods always makes me want to sleep! Great job for doing your workout regardless of how you were feeling!

Having some one doing P90X with you or having an accountability buddy definitely helps! Have a great evening!!

You know you’re committed when….! So glad that the man is doing it beside me or I would have made today my rest day. Don’t want to start that. Can’t believe that 2 weeks are almost over.

I, too, took martial arts classes for many years and this workout seemed like a piece of cake. Don’t get me wrong, I broke a nice healthy sweat while flailing around, but the martial arts classes that I used to go to seemed a ton harder than this workout. I do love how it went by so fast though. Time flew by faster than your hands and feet.

It’s hilarious how we can stay in a horse stance for years, but you put us up against a wall and we are toast in a matter of minutes.

Yea, I’m still not very good at some of the stretches. I lose my balance very easily.

I wonder how accurate your HR monitor is? That’s sounds like an awful lot of calories for Kenpo X, but who knows, it could be right!

There are aspects of this workout that I do very easy, and there are others that I feel worn out at the end.

Honestly, its the very beginning during stretching…you have to get into runners pose after some other post..and its awkward where you do the side prayer. I haven’t quite gotten that fluid yet.

According to my hr monitor, I burned roughly 879 calories during this workout. Not sure, though, how the HR monitors work in that regard. I basically click a timer and it starts spitting out your calories burned.

btw – Jean Claude Van Damme was at my house today, I posted a video of him training

:)

I’m just used to feeling close to my deathbed by the time I’m done with a video.

lol! That’s a good way to describe how I usually feel after the P90X workouts too! Sounds like you got a good workout if you’re sore!! I’m not really feeling any soreness :(

So I guess I was a bit off about the exercise feeling like it wasn’t much. I’m a bit sore in the gluts and upper back from it this morning. Though it’s the good burn. I guess it did do something, I’m just used to feeling close to my deathbed by the time I’m done with a video.

I’m sure this is really easy for you since you took martial arts for so long. My wife used to be really into kick boxing, and she didn’t think the workout was all that hard either. I never took martial arts or have done kick boxing before, so I think Kenpo X was a little harder for me intially. The kicks were especially difficult for me when I first started, but I feel like I’ve got them pretty much down.

Yea, Tony Horton says at one point during the P90X DVD that you should feel it in your legs (while you’re in the horse stance). I never feel it in my legs even though I’m pretty sure I’m doing the horse stance correctly. I loose my balance during the kicks sometimes too.

I’m seriously considering buying the weighted gloves (maybe Beachbody makes something for your legs too? i just haven’t looked). Kenpo X is really fun, but it is the easiest workout (at least for me, and it sounds like for you as well), so I think adding some weight would really help take it to another level. Or doing cardio-x with Kenpo X might be a good idea too.

I always have trouble with the Start block!! Just like you, not because of strength or stamina, but because I get confused on which way to go. I normally think way too much and that really seems to mess me up.
