I just finished multiple rounds of P90X through the course of the past six months and LOVE it. It was getting a bit routine for me but I kept improving with pullups and with dumbbell weights, and I still can’t do decent sphinx pushups or dreya rolls :) But I do love that program in part cuz I know it’s helping me get stronger with pullups and pushups and all kinds of great stuff.

So I just started an Insanity & P90X2 hybrid, and started with P90X2 balance & Power. Obviously the moves are difficult and new, and I like the body movement involved and the challenge of using the stability ball. I’m way further along than trying P90X2 out cold, without any definition or having whipped myself into shape. But will P90X2 help me stay “powerful” in the sense of continuing to be able to do pullups, keep my biceps & triceps nice and toned, etc.? Should I still throw in some P90X workouts like chest shoulders tri and shoulders & arms? Those two in particular are bears…I run out of energy on those but keep pushing pause to do extra reps or take my time where I can to really max out the # of reps I do because I love the burn on those workouts so much.

I’ve only tried one P90X2 workout so far and it wasn’t weight-heavy, so just understand the perspective; certainly not making any judgments about P90X2 just yet! I just love the fact that I’m toned and don’t want to lose any of that.

Yea you could do a P990X Insanity hybrid. Then you’d get the best of both worlds.

I’ve done insanity a couple times and am about to start it again but I want to start p90x or p90x2 at the same time (switching back and forth each day between insanity and one of the 2). I’m 6′ and around 175 lbs, I’m wanting to add muscle and bulk up but not a whole, whole lot (I want bigger, smart endurance muscles). I climb, mtn bike, and trail run so I need to stay somewhat thin but mainly stay in really good shape. So I guess what I’m asking is, in combination with insanity, which would be better for my goals? I’m thinking p90x just because when doing insanity it’s very hard for me to put on weight and I stay thin. Insanity will give me the cardio I need and p90x will give me te muscle I want, correct?

I want something to help me lose the hard last 5 pounds but also something that will help me gain muscle and get rid of the belly fat that I have.I really want to get toned and have defined muscle.Any suggestions?
