Not sure exactly what they use. Have a set of 15 up to 30’s would be good.

I want to know what range of dumbbells should I purchase. I was thinking 20 to 30 pound dumbbells. I was wondering, what range of weights does Tony and the “kids” use on exercises. I am not a very strong guy. In the gym I do 40lb bicep curls for 8 reps and I struggle. Thanks.

You don’t have to have them, but they are good to have if you plan on sticking with Phase 2 for six weeks so you can switch up the workouts. You’ll be replacing a few of the workouts with them. Check out this post for more info on the schedule –

There’s a video on the page that will walk you through it. Hope that helps buddy!

I’m a bit confused about the extra workouts in the deluxe version. Do I need them? If I do, then do I add them in on top of the other workouts or do I swap them? How do I know when to use them? Thanks.

Yes, they are going to be a lot of very similar exercises. So having a good set of dumbbells would be good to have if you don’t want to use the bands. I prefer the dumbbells myself as well, but the resistance bands are good if you travel a lot.

Several months ago I went ahead and bought a set of the U-90 Powerblocks. They are freakin awesome. They aren’t cheap, but they are cheaper in the long run then buying a full set of dumbbells. I hope that helps buddy! Let me know if you have any other questions!

So in preparation for p90x2 I am looking at buying dumbbells. What my question is, are the workouts that use these similar to p90x( is there still the lawn mower exercises where I can use 80lb dumbbell and then also need a 25-30lb one for the shoulder/tricep excercises)? Maybe an obvious question, but with price of weights I want to make sure I get it right.
