P90X Equipment- What do you need to do the P90X workout?
Below is the minimum P90X gear that you’ll need to get through the program:
- P90X DVD’s (“P90X Training System”)- Comes with the 12 workout P90X DVD’s, a nutrition plan, and a fitness guide.
- P90X Pull Up Bar- This is a must since 3 of the 12 P90X DVD’s use the pull up bar.
- Resistance Bands or Dumbbells- Either of these will work, but you need at least one or the other. I’m using dumbbells that I bought from Wal-Mart (it was a set that goes up to 20lbs on each dumbbell, I paid about $40 for it). The resistance bands are great for when you travel.
In addition to the above, I’ll also be using the following optional P90X fitness gear:
- P90X Recovery Drink- This helps your muscles repair and rebuild after a workout. You should drink this within an hour of working out.
- Whey Protein- You’ve got to have enough protein in your diet to build muscle and shred fat. It’s a great snack option to have when you need something quick and easy.
- Yoga Mat- This makes the P90X ab exercises and the P90X yoga much more enjoyable (a hard wood floor or carpet rubbing against your skin doesn’t feel all that great).
- Yoga Blocks (2)- I’m definitely a beginner at yoga, so these have really helped out. These help stabilize you and deepen your posture during difficult poses.
- Heart Rate Monitor- This makes it really easy to see if you are in the zone, and to see how your fitness level is improving.
- Push Up Bars- This helps alleviate stress on the wrist joints when doing pushups.
Where should you buy all of your P90X equipment?
The best place to buy P90X gear is straight from the source- Beachbody. You can buy everything you need from the Beachbody Store with the exception of dumbbells (as I mentioned earlier you can buy a set pretty cheap at Wal-Mart).
I bought the P90X Results package with has the following (I highly recommend this option since you save over $24)-
Alternatively, if you are on a tight budget or just want to stick with the basic P90X gear that you will definitely need, you can purchase just the P90X Training System for $119.85.

How can you get a discount on P90X gear and get the best possible results out of the P90X workout?
Well, first off there aren’t any P90X coupon codes or P90X discount codes available, but there are discounts available. If you want to get a 10% discount on the P90X program and other P90X gear, then you should sign up for the Beachbody Club Membership Account. It is only $2.99 a week and the membership virtually pays for itself because of the 10% discount. If you buy the P90X Results Package, then you are basically getting over 2 months of the Club Membership for free (P90X Results Package, $269.70 minus 10% discount equals $26.97, which is 9 weeks of the Club Membership at $2.99 per week). You can also cancel at anytime so you’re not locked into any type of contract. Below are the benefits to signing up for the Club Membership account.

The best way to ensure you stick with P90X and get the best possible results is to at the very minimum sign up for a free Beachbody Membership Account. It is completely free with no gimmicks or catches and truly is worth the time and effort to sign up (it only takes a few minutes to sign up). Below are the benefits to signing up for the free membership account.

Lastly, if you want to get a huge P90X discount, and a huge discount on all other Beachbody products, then you should consider becoming a Beachbody Coach (this is the route that I took). This is for individuals who are serious and committed to getting fit and healthy. You get a 25% discount on all P90X gear and other Beachbody products, and you can also earn commissions by selling Beachbody products to your friends, family members, co-workers etc (there is no inventory, you just direct them to your own website like this one). It actually is a very easy sell (and really doesn’t feel like selling at all), because once people start seeing the results you are getting from P90X then they will usually ask what kind of workout you’re doing. There are also roughly 7 other ways you can earn money as a Beachbody coach.
If you are ready to sign up to become a Beachbody Coach, then click here to sign up on my team. You can also visit my Beachbody Coach page to get more information on the program. If you have any questions about becoming a Beachbody Coach then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Wow..your site has me excited about it…..I think I am going to give it a try. THANKS!
Great!! Let me know if you have any questions! Also, make sure to keep me updated in your progress!! Have a great day!
so I can use the bands instead of the pull up bar? and does it have to be a certain band?
Yes, you could use the bands instead of the pull up bar, but you’ll have to get the door attachment. You can get it here for cheap-
http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/MDACCBANDUPK1?referringRepId=35822
No, it doesn’t have to be a certain type of band that I know of. Are you planning on starting P90X?
Just checked out your site and I really enjoyed your enthusiasm as you put this into action in January.I like your “about me” introduction. It has given me some positive influence for my site. .My site is about 4-5 months now(still new).I still need to set up for subscribers (haven’t figured it out yet, but I will).Keep up the good work!
I appreciate it! Let me know if I can help in any way!
Also, are you doing P90X?
Is this workout out for man and woman
Yes, P90X is for both men and women. My wife has done P90X and got some awesome results!
Great info! Has the price of the P90X Results Package Price changed? You list $239.70 but when I click on the link the price is $269.70 (plus shipping, likely).
They just added a pro-grade mat to the package so you’re right, the price for the P90X Results Package is now $269.70 (I just updated the post above). Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks, Jonathan. Would pro-grade mat suffice for all of the activities? Also, which resistance bands should I choose? I’m a guy with a relatively small build and poor upper body strength. I’m hoping P90X will help change that. But will the men’s resistance bands be too much for me to use?
My pleasure Chris! The pro-grade mat will most definitely work for all of the activities in P90X. It’s a really nice mat…
As far as the resistance bands, if I were you, I’d recommend getting the medium bands that you can get with the P90X Results package. That set of bands is 20 to 40 pounds. The 20 pound resistance band feels a lot lighter then 20 pounds dumbbells so I think you can handle it. You sound like me when you first started, and I was able to use the 20 pound resistance band fine. P90X most definitely will help you get stronger. As you do get stronger, you’ll be able use the harder bands that come with your set.
Make sure to order P90X from the links above in this post. You’ll get 2 free P90X workout DVD’s for doing that and you’ll get me as you Coach to help support you and motivate you along the way. Once you order, I’ll see that you’ve ordered and I’ll be in contact. In case you haven’t seen my P90X transformation video check it out here to see where I was at when I first started- http://trek2befit.com/p90x-before-and-after
I hope that helps! I look forward to helping you start P90X! Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks, Jonathan. I enjoyed the video. Unfortunately, even your ‘before’ pictures put me to shame. I’m about 15 pounds overweight and have developed a gut. I’d *really* like to get my abs / midsection under control–even before developing upper body strength. That led me to the discovery of BB’s RevAbs product.
I’m concerned that I won’t be able to dedicate 60 to 90 minutes every day — nor the wherewithal — to keep going with something so strenuous as P90X.
I’m wondering whether it might be more realistic for me to start with RevAbs, see success with that, and then progress to P90X.
Do you have any comments on this approach?
No problem buddy!
I think you’ve got to do what is best for you! You’re right that P90X may not be the right program for you at this point, and that is definitely ok! Since you are more concerned with your abs at this point, and have limited time, then I think RevAbs would be a great choice and a great program to do. You can most definitely move onto P90X after RevAbs. I think the longest RevAbs workout is 45 minutes long so the workouts are shorter than P90X.
Here’s the link to RevAbs: http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/RevAbs?referringRepId=35822
I hope that helps and let me know what you end up doing! Have a great Sunday!
Thanks for the URL. I want to make sure you get credit.
If I press the Continue Shopping button from your URL, I notice there is also a RevAbs Deluxe package. Are you familiar with that? It includes two more DVDs and some ‘weight unlisted’ resistance bands, but at double the price of the base package. That doesn’t appear to be as good a deal as the upgrade from the P90X to the Results Package. What do you think?
If I were you, I’d just stick with the basic package for now…You could then buy the upgrade package later to add a few more workouts to mix if you wanted to or you could just move onto P90X. Yea I definitely think the P90X Results Package is a little bit better deal…
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! Have a good one Chris!!! Let me know when you start the program!
Is buying via your URL the only way you can get credit as well as be my assigned coach? I can buy the package elsewhere with guaranteed receipt on 24 Nov (and it’s even a few dollars cheaper)…or I can buy from the URL and have it shipped “UPS Basic” or “UPS Ground” but — with not knowing where the package is shipped from and with the holiday mailing season starting this week and all — not know when the package will arrive. I live in Pennsylvania.
Yes, unfortunately I only get credit if you order it through Team Beachbody, but just do whatever you’ve got to do!
im 6’7 and i live in an apartment building, i don think the pull up bar is a good idea for me, what could i do to substitute for it
You could always use the resistance bands and also get the kit that has the door attachment. Here’s a link to it-

What’s got you looking to do P90X Antoine?
hey i noticed that the first diet plan is to help loose weight but i don’t think that for my size (5ft 8 in 140 lbs) that loosing weight would be good as far as being a good size to gain muscle. Do they just assume everyone needs to trim down or is there another option as far as the diet plan goes?
The P90X Nutrition Guide is actually designed for anyone whether they are trying to lose weight, get toned, gain muscle or to even just maintain their weight. It’s all based on how many calories you take in, and making any adjustments necessary since everyone’s bodies are different. Let me know if that doesn’t answer your question Connor. Are you starting P90X soon?
Hello, I was considering getting the optional recovery drink and whey protein bit I am a type 1 diabetic taking insulin injectios do you know how the products affect the blood sugar.
Thanks
Honestly, I’m not sure how the Recovery Drink or the Whey Protein would affect the blood sugar. I would imagine the Recovery Drink would be bad for a diabetic since it’s loaded with sugar to help a person bounce back after an intense workout like P90X. You can always check out the Whey Protein nutrition label here- http://trek2befit.com/go/proteinpowder
For your situation, you may want to consider going for Shakeology. Shakeology has been certified low glycemic so it’s great for people with diabetes. You can check it out here- Shakeology
hey i was just wondering with the p90x program do i need a protein shake? and if so what ingredients should i be looking for in the shake?
If you’re looking to build muscle…then adding some extra protein is always a good idea. I’d stick with the whey protein. I’m currently using Optimum Nutrition’s whey protein.
