Using Jedi Mind Control Techniques To Lose Weight, Get Toned, Or Get Ripped

The Dark SideYour mind is an extremely powerful tool and it can be used for good OR for evil! By using Jedi mind control techniques you can use your mind to ensure you accomplish ALL of your health and fitness goals, whether they are to lose weight, get toned, or to get ripped. Your success at accomplishing your goals actually totally hinges on your mindset. If you have the wrong mindset then you can consider yourself part of the Dark Side and you are ultimately doomed to failure and destruction.

Sounds pretty dramatic, eh? Well luckily, you can pull yourself out of the Dark Side and you can use your mind for good to ensure your success. The keyword here is “YOU,” because you and only you can pull yourself out of the Dark Side and into a mindset that breeds success. So I’m going to stop pretending to be a Star Wars nerd and to know it all about the Jedi mind control techniques (I should have had my wife write this blog post since she’s a big fan). :-) To me, “the Force” is using your inner strength within your mind to find success.

Let’s continue onward with our journey and go over some specific techniques that you can do to use the force to get yourself into the right mindset.

Jedi Mind Control Technique #1 – Establish Your Why Or Die

Ok, you really won’t die, however, without a clearly defined “Why” it’s like being in an ARC-170 Starfighter without a pilot. That is obviously very, very bad and you likely will die! So ask yourself, “Why the heck am I doing this workout program?” Don’t just come up with the usual reasons like, “I want to lose weight,” or “I want to get toned,” or “I want to get ripped.”  Think deeper…How will losing the weight make you feel? What will the weight loss do for you? The deeper reasons are the TRUE reasons why you are working out. This is what you need to focus your mind on and what will motivate you to keep working out on the days you just don’t feel like it.

Your Action Steps From Master Yoda- Take a few minutes and write down on a sheet of paper 3 DEEP reasons why you are working out.

Jedi Mind Control Technique #2 –
Commit Or Submit

By not making a commitment to yourself deep down inside that you are going to stick with your workout program no matter what, you are setting yourself up for failure and you ought to go ahead and throw in the light saber, I mean towel. You are essentially submitting yourself to the Dark Side, because more then likely the evil excuses will eventually crop up and you’ll eventually quit. You absolutely MUST make a commitment to YOURSELF that you are going to do whatever it takes to get your workouts done and you are going to MAKE IT a priority!

Your Action Steps From Master Yoda- Pick up the phone (yep Yoda said..the phone, not by email, by text, or by facebook) and call 5 close friends and tell them this,” Hey Obi-Wan…I just wanted to tell you that I’m start P90X tomorrow. I am going to finish the program no matter what, but could you do me a favor and the next time we talk make sure to ask me how’s it going with P90X? Just bug me about it. I’d really appreciate your support.”

Jedi Mind Control Technique #3 –
Stay Positive Or Be Bositive

I was going to try to keep the rhyming theme going, but I couldn’t think of something that rhymed with positive so I made up a word. Anyways, if you truly want to succeed and accomplish your weight loss, fitness, and health goals you’ve gotta be positive! You need to get rid of “I can’t” from your vocabulary and replace it with “I currently struggle with ____” (thanks Tony Horton for that one). You may just be getting back into fitness and struggling to keep up and struggling to do the exercises. Or you maybe a fitness nut and have hit a plateau. Struggling with the exercises or hitting a plateau is only a temporary issue (unless you quit). If you stick with it and stay positive you will get past it.

So use the force…Use the inner strength within yourself to get through your workouts and to stick with it. You CAN, and you WILL do it! What’s your other option? To quit and go back to your old ways? Is that what you want to do? I didn’t think so…So STAY POSITIVE and JUST DO YOUR BEST and don’t worry about anything else!

Your Action Steps From Master Yoda- In 1 or 2 sentences write out a positive statement where you are telling yourself that you can do anything that comes your way and that you will stick with your fitness plan no matter what. Write it down and read this out loud when you first wake up in the morning and right before you go to bed. Do this for 7 days straight. This is a powerful technique and it can help to transform your entire mindset.

Jedi Mind Control Technique #4 –
For True Jedi Leaders Only

R2-D2 & C-3POThis technique isn’t for everyone. This is for Jedi’s who are true leaders who want to not only get fit and healthy themselves, but who want to take a stand against obesity and to pay it forward to help others (all while earning some extra cash to help pay for a new droid like R2-D2 or C-3PO). This is the route I went and it started out as something to do just for fun when I had the time. I did it initially for ME so that I could have something hanging over my head to force me to stick with my workouts. It worked, and now it’s WAY bigger than me! We now have a rapid growing team of Jedi leaders all across the universe.

As Master Yoda states, there is no try! Either do everything above or don’t do it at all. The choice is yours whether you take action or you do nothing.
