P90X Day 82 Completed: Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X

Day 82 of my P90X workout is done! Today I had to do Ab Ripper X and Legs and Back. Both of the workouts went great, and it’s hard to believe that today was the last day I’ll be doing these workouts until P90X round 2! After Legs and Back I flipped through my P90X Worksheets and noticed every page is filled out now! It’s very exciting to see that I’ve made it this far and that I’m finally in the home stretch!

I did Ab Ripper X first again today so I could make sure to give it 100%. All of the exercises went very well and the workout flew by like usual. The Fifer Scissors were pretty painful again, but I pushed through the pain and did all of the reps.

Legs and Back went great as well, but this workout kicked my butt! Today I started to use 30 pound dumbbells for the leg exercises that Tony recommends using weight, but I ended up having to stop about halfway through the Alternating Side Lunges to reduce my weight. I went back down to 25 pound dumbbells and I finished the remaining reps. I also struggled somewhat towards the end of the 80/20 Cyber-Speed Squats. I did all of the reps on one side (I forget which side you do first), but I didn’t do the last few reps on the other side (my legs were burning like crazy).

For the pull ups, I increased my reps for all of the exercises except for the first set of the Reverse Grip Chin-Ups. During the first set of the Reverse Grip Chin-Ups I did the same number of reps as last week (16 reps). For some of the other pull up exercises I added 2 or 3 more reps from last week. Since this was the last time I’ll be doing pull ups for awhile I tried to push out as many pull ups I could towards the end of the workout.

For everyone who is doing P90X, great job for sticking with the program this far! Keep up the hard work because we’re almost to the finish line!!!

Nutrition for today-

Breakfast: Bowl of Fiber One cereal and a protein shake.

Mid-Morning: Protein shake.

Lunch: Turkey hot dog on a whole wheat bun. I also had some celery sticks with natural peanut butter on them and a small cup of grape juice to give me energy for Ab Ripper X and Legs and Back.

Mid-Afternoon: Protein shake and P90X Recovery drink after Ab Ripper X and Legs and Back.

Dinner: Tilapia, shrimp and a salad.

After-Dinner: Protein shake.
