Ahhhhhhh! I just completed an intense, but very relaxing day 11 of my P90X workout. Today was Yoga X. It was definitely tough for me doing some of poses, but I feel like I did a lot better then P90X day 4. I even enjoyed Yoga X today!
I pretty much have the moving asanas down (at least I think I do) but I did struggle with the Half Moon, Twisting Half Moon, Triangle Pose, Twisting Triangle, and the Standing Splits (there may be more, that’s all I can remember). I get off balance very easily and I’m also not very flexible, so I think those will just take time for me to get better at. Oh, and of course I can’t even get close to doing the Crane. I think it would be so cool if by the end of P90X I could do the Crane! It would be a HUGE testament to the P90X program if I could accomplish that!
I just completed day 10 of my P90X workout!! Now I’ve only got 80 more days to go! Today was Shoulders and Arms and Ab Ripper X. It was a great workout and my arms, shoulders, and abs are exhausted!
I was finally able to find a store that had the plates I needed for my dumbbells (Dick’s Sporting Goods; I should have gone there first). So today I increased my weight on most of the exercises by 10 pounds. Towards the end of the workout I had to go back down to my original weight, but I pushed harder today and I got a great workout.
Shouldn’t the P90X workouts be getting easier by now? I guess not, because P90X Plyometrics killed me again! At about the 35 minute mark I had to pause the P90X DVD and take an extended break to catch my breath and let my legs rest. I then continued the workout and at about the 20 minute mark I had to pause again to take another break! This time I had a cramp from the smoothie I had prior to my workout (I definitely should have listened to Tony Horton’s advice and waited at least an hour prior to starting P90X Plyometrics).
Phewwwww! Day 8 of my P90X workout is complete. Today was Chest and Back, and Ab Ripper X. I did Ab Ripper X first this time, and it actually seemed to go better. I still had to pause the P90X DVD like usual between some of the exercises though. Also, when I got to the Mason Twist I ended up stopping at the 10th rep (I’m really mad at myself for doing that) and taking a quick break. Ab Ripper X is a tough workout and I hope one day I can get through it without stopping!
I just completed the P90X X Stretch and I am officially done week 1 of P90X! The X Stretch sequence is an extensive full-body stretch (34 moves) that uses disciplines from multiple sports such as Kenpo, karate, and yoga. For this P90X DVD you’ll need your yoga mat and yoga blocks.
The X Stretch P90X workout was pretty straightforward and the stretches felt really good on my sore muscles. The Seated Spinal Stretch was somewhat difficult to get into (I felt like a pretzel), but everything else was pretty simple. I really enjoyed the stretches that worked my glutes (they are especially sore from P90X Legs and Back)!Continue reading
P90X Day 6 is done!! One more day, and week 1 of P90X is over! Today was Kenpo X, and that has got to be my favorite P90X workout! The P90X Kenpo X workout consists of 26 exercises that includes lots of punching, kicking, and blocking. You’ll just need your heart rate monitor, water, and a towel. It is really, really fun and time fly’s with this P90X workout!
