P90X Kenpo X

P90X Kenpo X

Kenpo X has got to be one of the P90X workouts that almost EVERYONE loves and enjoys doing. I personally love and enjoy doing P90X Kenpo X myself. If you had a bad day, or have any anger towards a situation or person inside you, it’s a great workout to vent and to just let things go. You can punch, kick, jab, and block all of your issues away. It’s reinvigorating and a lot of fun!

The only issue that I see with P90X “Kenpo X” is that it does tend to get easy with time. It was either towards the end of my first round of P90X (or the beginning of round 2 of P90X) when it started getting easier for me (I can’t remember the exact time since it was almost 2 years ago). Regardless of when, if you stick with P90X like you should, then this workout will eventually start getting easy for you. So what do you do when P90X Kenpo X gets easy?

Do you keep doing it over and over the same way? Do you quit P90X all together? No! You modify to make it work for you so that the intensity of Kenpo X is stepped up a notch. I’m going to give you 5 of my best secrets to take “P90X Kenpo X” to the NEXT level. After you read my tips on how to take P90X Kenpo X up a notch, make sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what you do or have done to take things to the next level.

5 Tips To Take P90X Kenpo X To The Next Level

#1 – Add Weight During P90X Kenpo X

Add Weight To P90X Kenpo X

I remember one day I was browsing around Dick’s Sporting Goods looking at fitness stuff and I found these goofy looking things that you could wrap around your hands that had weights in them. I thought to myself…”EUREKA! I’ll just strap on weight during Kenpo X.” So I searched the Internet trying to find a good pair of these things and I ended up buying the pair in the picture to the right.

While they did help step up the intensity of P90X Kenpo X, the wrist staps themselves sucked and moved around too much during the punches so I ended up returning them. But the point is, an easy way to step up the intensity is to add weight. They now make better made weighted gloves here at Amazon that fit snug like a glove so you don’t have to worry about them shifting and moving during P90X Kenpo X.

They also make weighted vests (I have one and it works awesome), weighted leg straps, etc. They have all kinds of weighted things that you can buy and strap to your body. So add some weight to P90X Kenpo X and you’ll be sweating like it’s your first time doing the workout.

#2 – Use A Real Punching Bag During P90X Kenpo X

This is a more expensive option, but it is an option. I know a few people that have their own full size punching bag in their garage. So instead of doing P90X Kenpo X in their living room, they have a small TV out in their garage that they use to do P90X Kenpo X using a real punching bag.

If you’ve ever punched and kicked at a real punching bag, you’ll know that this will take P90X Kenpo X to a whole entirely new level.

#3 – During The “Breaks” Go Faster Then Tony Horton And The Crew

P90X Kenpo X: X Time

During the so called “breaks” that you get during P90X Kenpo X, don’t use them as breaks. Continue doing the jumping jacks, the X jump etc. with Tony Horton and the crew. When you’re jogging in place, doing the jumping jacks, etc. go double the speed of Tony Horton and the crew. I always make sure to do this and it get’s my heart racing and I’m sweating like crazy.

#4 During ALL the P90X Kenpo X Exercises Do Doubles

I just thought of this and I’ll be doing this today when I do P90X Kenpo X! Instead of doing the same movements at the same time with Tony Horton, do 2 reps for every 1 rep that they do. So you’ll basically be doing doubles the entire time. When they’re doing double reps themselves, you can just go as hard and fast as you can during those exercises.

I’m getting tired thinking of doing doubles the entire time during P90X Kenpo X! This will most definitely step things up.

#5 If All Else, Maybe It’s Time To Replace P90X Kenpo X With Insanity

If you’ve tried all of the above and none of it works, or you just want to spice things up and add some variety, then pick up the Insanity program and replace P90X Kenpo X with one of the Insanity workouts. As Tony Horton says, “Variety is the spice of life” (at least I think he says that).

I love P90X, but switching things up every now and then helps to make things more exciting. I have both programs so some weeks I’ll do all P90X workouts, and some weeks I’ll replace some of the P90X cardio workouts with Insanity workouts. I’ve even stopped P90X for a little while so I could go through all 60 days of Insanity to really switch things up. Just do whatever you got to do so you’re always improving and becoming a better, healthier, more fitter you.

To Wrap Things Up

The whole point of all of these tips to take P90X Kenpo X to a new level is to give you some ideas on things you can do to modify so that you are always becoming stronger, healthier, and fitter. Once you stop pushing yourself, you’ll stop getting results. Once you start just going through the motions of working out, it will become just another repetitive, boring activity. And what happens when things get boring or monotonous? We usually quit and go back to our old ways.

So ALWAYS continue pushing play, and ALWAYS continue doing whatever you got to do to push yourself harder so that working out stays fun, exciting AND so that you’re becoming a better you. I believe in you, and I know you can do it!
