P90X Day 44 Completed: P90X Plyometrics

PHEW! I just finished Plyometrics and I’m exhausted!! For some reason I didn’t have as much energy during this P90X workout from last week. I still think I did pretty good though. I remember when I first started doing Plyometrics and just doing the warm-up would kill me. While my legs still burn somewhat towards the end of the warm-up, it’s definitely not as hard as it used to be.

P90X Day 43 Completed: Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X

Team USA Olympics Ice Hockey

Team USA celebrates Zach Parise's game-tying goal

Day 43 of my P90X workout is finally over! Today I did Ab Ripper X earlier in the afternoon, and I just finished Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. I would have done the workouts back to back, but I couldn’t miss USA play Canada in the  Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey game. I really thought we were going to pull it out after that amazing shot by Zach Parise. When he made that shot my wife and both jumped off the couch screaming with excitement and our dog started running around the Living Room in circles. It was a major disappointment when Canada scored during overtime.

P90X Day 42 Completed: Rest or X Stretch

Well, even though today was supposed to be a rest day or X Stretch, I decided to do Kenpo X instead as my P90X workout. Last night I ended up going back on my old ways and I pigged out during dinner. We had some friends over, and for dinner we ordered Papa John’s pizza (big mistake). I had planned to only eat 2 slices of pizza (which isn’t the most nutritious meal, but it isn’t horribly bad) and I actually ended up eating 4 or 5 slices. It was really good, but I felt like crap after wards because I over ate, and I completely ignored the limits I set for myself. I could probably stand to take in some more calories to help build muscle, but pizza definitely isn’t the right kind of calories to do that. I’m only human, so I guess it’s to be expected that I’ll do things like this, but it’s just really frustrating when I go back to my old ways.

P90X Day 41 Completed: P90X Kenpo X

P90X Kenpo X

P90X Kenpo X

Day 41 of my P90X workout is over! I had another great workout with Kenpo X! My legs have been extremely sore today from the Legs & Back workout I did yesterday, but I still kicked, punched, and blocked as hard as I could. I know I burned a ton of calories, and I was sweating like crazy by the end of the workout!

P90X Day 40 Completed: P90X Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X

P90X Chair Salutations

P90X Chair Salutations

I just finished my P90X workout for the day! Today was Legs & Back, and Ab Ripper X. Legs & Back went great today! I used 20 pound dumbbells for all of the leg exercises that Tony recommends using dumbbells (last week I used 15 pound dumbbells). Since I increased my weight, I did have to pause the P90X DVD several times to take breaks to ensure I did all the reps and to maintain proper form. Last week with only 15 pound dumbbells was tough, so adding 5 more pounds made a pretty big difference! About halfway through the Calf Raises my calves were on fire!

P90X Day 39 Completed: P90X Yoga X

P90X Yoga X Warrior Three

P90X Yoga X Warrior Three

Today is day 39 of my P90X workout, and I just completed Yoga X. Yoga X went a lot better today than last week on P90X day 32. Due to time constraints though, I had to actually split the workout up, but that made it seem not as long. I did the first 30 minutes of Yoga X earlier today, and I just completed the remaining hour.
