I’m always looking for something cheaper and more effective than whatever I’m using at the moment so looking for a Shakeology alternative just made sense. When I first heard about Shakeology, I balked. At $4 a meal, it’s downright expensive. Do the math, and you’re easily spending over one hundred dollars on this drink each month. Unless there’s something really really special about Shakeology, it might be better to try and find some kind of Shakeology alternative.
Is there really such a thing as a Shakeology alternative? Does anything even come close? Sure, there are other protein powders and shakes out there, and they all do their job more or less. You get the post-workout protein and simple sugars you need to recover for the next workout, but you’re missing out on so much more. It’s not just about proteins and carbohydrates. Your body needs vitamins and other nutrients.Continue reading
The Insanity Workout Schedule is one of the most intense and invigorating workout schedules I have personally experienced; it is certainly not for the faint of heart! Billed as one of the most intense workout programs Team Beachbody has ever put onto DVD, the Insanity Workout Schedule is focused on cardio in all of its glory. At 60 days long it might seem like something you would want to take on starting out to get back into fitness, but if you are a beginner in the workout world or have physical limitations like knee problems, you might be better off with another fitness program. And of course, any and all fitness training and workout programs should be discussed with your doctor before you get started; the goal is to get you in the best shape of your life, and being safe is a big part of that goal!Continue reading

Count me guilty. I’ve done at least every one of these, and I’m not ashamed of it. I’ve realized that it’s a part of the culture we’ve all grown up in. Sometimes it’s sheer laziness. Either way, these 5 things will make it very difficult for you to achieve your fitness goals. Are you guilty of any of them?
1.) Not Eating. It’s ironic that I consider this to be the number one mistake you can make if you’re trying to lose fat. After all, you’re supposed to be taking in less food, not more, so doesn’t it kind of make sense to skip a few meals?
Not at all. The problem isn’t eating. You need to eat. It’s just that when we eat, we tend to eat too much, and what we eat usually isn’t very good for us. The problem only gets worse when we’re hungry. That’s when we lose all control and devour whatever is in front of us. If you haven’t prepared anything ahead of time, it’ll probably be junk food.Continue reading
If there’s one thing that will never change about eating healthy, it’s this. You have to cook, and you have to cook a lot. There’s no way around it. The good stuff is the stuff you make at home with fresh ingredients, and the bad stuff is pre-packaged and processed. Simple as that.
I find it funny that so many people I know avoid healthy food choices, not because they don’t taste good, but because they require so much preparation. We live in a go go go world, and most people don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen.
Fair enough. I don’t either. I’m a very busy guy too, and that’s why I’ve learned how to adapt my healthy eating habits to my hectic and sometimes downright impossible schedule. With a few small adjustments to your ordinary cooking schedule, you can too.Continue reading
Taking your P90X measurements and your P90X before pictures are so so SOOO, very important! This is a critical step that a lot of people skip. They get so excited about starting P90X that they jump right into the workouts without doing the prep work. This is a BIG no no since the people that skip this step are usually the people that end up quitting and not finishing the program (and therefore NOT accomplishing their goals). DON’T become one of those people! Take the 10 or 15 minutes that it takes to do these easy, simple steps so that you are more likely to complete all 90 days of P90X and accomplish your goals whether it be to lose weight, get toned, or even to get ripped and bulked up.
So read on, because I’ll give you a few more reasons why you MUST take your P90X measurements and your P90X before pictures, and I’ll also tell you exactly how to take them.Continue reading
