I’m still in shock that it’s JUNE already! For most, that means it’s summer time (even though I think summer technically starts towards the end of June)!

I wanted to give you some summer motivation and share with you another fellow TREK2BEFIT community member’s P90X results.

Scot finished his FIRST 90 days of P90X around the middle of May. He decided he wanted change, he committed to getting that change, and now he has succeeded!

He lost a whopping 25 pounds with P90X! Check out his before and after pictures below…

Now check out this side shot comparing his before and after…

You notice the changes? If not, you’re BLIND! :-) Scot DESTROYED P90X and rid himself of the belly! WAY TO GO Scot! Congrats on your results buddy!

Scot and I exchanged a few emails, and here is his response to one of my emails.

This will give you some insight to how he got the results he got, what pushed him to change, and what’s next for him…

“It was hard, no doubt. I can honestly say that I gave close to 100% effort every day. I knew it was going to be hard….extremely hard, but had no intention of cheating myself. I wanted results……visual results, and I think I achieved that.

I had gotten lethargic and lazy and needed to make a change. Fast food had become a daily occurrence. I used to cycle (road bikes) alot and had gotten too heavy to be able to keep up with my friends on our rides…..so I quit riding for a year. I was bummed!

A friend, who is 5′-6″ and weighed 280 lbs., wanted to lose weight as well so we bought the P90X program……and have worked out together every day, even recruiting different friends to work out with us from time to time. He has lost 36lbs. himself.

I feel great now and intend on losing 10-15 more lbs. I am back to my old self on the bike and kicking my friend’s asses now. :) They all agree I am stronger on the bike due to the P90X……and I totally agree. My legs are stronger and my stamina is back to where it used to be. I am even contemplating a half marathon next year…..and I HATE to run, but I feel light on my feet and may just give it a go.

We took 2 weeks off before starting round 2 of P90X……which today will be day 3 of being back on the horse. I must say that day 1 ab ripper has my lower abdomen feeling a bit tender…..we’ll see how today’s ab ripper goes.  I thought about doing your P90X/X2 hybrid routine……..but was out voted. :(

My goal this go round is ABS………and just a tighter, leaner, ripped bod. Wish me luck!

Thanks, Scot

Scot is a TRUE inspiration and a great example of what happens when you really commit yourself to the program. He is now going to live a much longer, happier, & healthier life as a result.

If he can do it…So can you.

If I can do it…So can you.

If the hundreds of thousands of others out there who have gone through P90X can do it…So can you.

All you’ve got to do, is decide, commit, and JUST DO IT!

By the way, I’m coming to the end of Month 2 of my P90X P90X2 Hybrid and I’m LOVIN it! :-) More updates on that coming soon!

Keep. Pushing. Play!

P90X P90X2 Hybrid

In this post I wanted to share with you my P90X P90X2 hybrid schedule that I’ve put together.

I just finished P90X2 about 2 weeks ago and I immediately jumped into my custom P90X P90X2 hybrid. After finishing Phase 2 of P90X2, I knew this would be an awesome combination. I’m excited to finally be sharing it with you!

Why A P90X P90X2 Hybrid?

So really quickly, why would you want to do a P90X P90X2 hybrid?

For me personally, I want to continue adding some size. By combining the strength Phase of P90X2, with the original P90X workouts I think we’ve got a super challenging, but fun workout that will help dudes, and even dudettes like me who want to add more size.

Also, if you’re not looking to add size, then that doesn’t mean the P90X P90x2 Hybrid isn’t for you. That just means you’ll want to use lighter weight, and do higher reps.

If you’re looking to bulk up like me, then you’ll want to focus on doing 8 to 10 reps with heavier weight. Once you can do 10 reps, then it’s time to heavy up the weight. I may even start going up once I can do 8 reps.

My P90X P90X2 hybrid is really for anyone looking for a new challenge and who want to continue seeing changes. Doing the same workout schedule can get monotonous and boring.

Change is the SPICE of life as Tony Horton likes to say! :-)

Recovery Time – P90X P90x2 Hybrid

As you check out the schedule, make sure to read through page 3 carefully. I decided that I’d keep the recovery time just like in P90X2 where it’s up you on when you take some time to let your body recover. I really love that about P90X2.

It’s a much more flexible schedule and takes more into account that we all have different bodies and therefore, when and how long we need the recovery time is different. I did put in there though that as a general rule of thumb, it’s good to take some recovery time every 3 to 6 weeks.

You Going To Do The P90X P90X2 Hybrid Schedule?

I’m already at week 3 in my P90X P90X2 hybrid and I’m lovin it! It’s awesome to be back to the original P90X workouts, but at the same time I’m getting excited to jump back into the P90X2 strength workouts!

If you plan on doing my P90X P90X2 hybrid schedule or are already doing it, make sure to leave a comment below.

I look forward to hearing how it’s going for you or what you think of my P90X P90X2 hybrid!

BRING IT!

I wanted to give a HUGE shout out and congrats to a fellow TREK2BEFIT community member.

Mike has religiously been staying engaged in our community…giving us updates, helping others, and he JUST finished ALL 90 days of P90X!

Instead of giving up, making excuses, he just did what needed to be done and pushed play for all 90 days.

And now he’s reaping the rewards! :-)

Here is Mike’s Day 1 P90x before photo-

Here’s his P90X photos side by side –

The result’s are clear as day! Mike burned off the goo, he’s got a six pack, and he’s gotten ripped! WAY TO GO MIKE!

Here’s all the details from Mike himself of the changes he got from committing to P90X…

What kind of results did you see with P90X?

15 lbs lost, 3.5 Inches off waist, dropped ~10% body fat

How has those results changed things for you?

More energy for the day. Feel good about how I look without a shirt again. Blood pressure is normal and no more back pain.

How did you keep yourself pushing play everyday, and/or what did you do on down days where you didn’t feel like working out?

I really did not need much motivation after the second week. It became a habit at that point. I simply gave my best each day…..

Any advice you’d give to someone about to start P90X?

Read success stories for the first few weeks when you think about it. Don’t give up after 30 days if you don’t see big results, they come later and often fast by 60 days!
So Mike simply gave his best each day. And as a result 15 pounds of pure fat is GONE!

That is exactly what we ALL need to do. There will be ups, there will be downs, but just. . . do . . . your . . . BEST!

Thanks Mike for sharing your P90X story, and you are a true inspiration to all of us!

It’s YOUR Turn . . .

Give Mike a big congrats in the comments, and share this story on your Facebook wall (or hit the Like button) so we can help inspire as many people as possible.

Your success story awaits…and I can’t wait to hear YOUR story! Keep pushing play TREK2BEFIT community! You can do it.

P90X What If I Miss A Day

P90X What If I Miss A Day

It’s inevitable. You will at some point miss a workout. If you’re doing P90X, P90X2, Insanity, or any other Beachbody workout, what should you do if you miss a workout? What if you just miss a few days? What if you miss an entire week?

Those are questions I get frequently so I decided it was about time to dedicate a blog post to answering them for you. If you’re in this situation (or even if you’re not) make sure you read this blog post from START to FINISH. I have a very important warning message that you need to read at the end.

So let’s start with question 1…

P90X What If I Miss A Day?

(just replace “P90X” with whatever fitness program you’re doing)

If you just miss a day of your P90X workout then you have 2 options. Option 1 is to make the day you missed your rest day for the week. So say you missed your workout on Wednesday (and in this example you started P90X on a Sunday). That means on Thursday you would be doing whatever workout you missed, on Friday you would do whatever workout you would typically be doing on Thursday (since you’re a day behind), and on Saturday you would be doing whatever workout you would typically be doing on Friday.

Then on Sunday you’ll be right back on schedule and you can continue on with the P90X workout schedule like usual. Does that make sense? I hope so! :-)

Option 2 is to just say screw it, and to move on while sticking with your usual schedule. So with our example above, you missed your Wednesday workout. On Thursday you would do whatever your typical Thursday workout is, Friday you’d do your typical Friday workout, and so forth.

I would recommend going for option 1 so you’re not missing any of the workouts.

What If I Miss 2 to 6 Days?

If you miss 2 to 6 days, then you have 3 options.

Option 1- You can say screw it and just move on with your typical workout schedule (like in option 2 above).

Option 2- You can just do the workouts you missed during your recovery week to make up for them then.

Option 3- You can re-do the entire week. This option is best if you miss 3 or more workouts.

I would definitely recommend options 2 and 3 over the first option. There’s really no right or wrong option between the last two. Just pick one and move forward!

What If I Miss A Week Of P90X?

If you miss an entire week (or more then 1 week) then the easiest thing to do would be to just start at the week you missed, and then continue on with your schedule like usual.

If you miss more then 3 weeks of your workout, then at that point you should seriously consider re-committing yourself to your workout, and then starting over at day 1 of your fitness program. If you’re missing that many workouts (and it’s not because of medical issues) then you definitely have some commitment issues that you need to address.

WARNING – You’re On A Slippery Slope…

This is a BIG warning that should NOT be discounted.

Skipping just one workout makes it easier to skip another one. And another one. And another one. Then an entire week is gone. Then several weeks. Then before you know it, months have gone by and you haven’t worked out. You then are looking down at your gut that is expanding versus shrinking and wondering what happened.

As soon as you start skipping workouts (even just one), you are on a very, very slippery slope. It gets easier and easier to justify why you can’t workout. You don’t have the time, you’re too tired, your pet hamster died, etc. etc. You’ll come up with all kinds of creative excuses.

So while it is inevitable that you’ll miss a workout here and there, just do WHATEVER you got to do to get back on to your regular workout schedule ASAP. Otherwise you risk going back to your old ways and throwing all your hard work away.

Morale of the story? Do your best to NOT miss any of your workouts…but when you do miss the occasional workout, do WHATEVER you’ve got to do to get yourself back on track.

Tony Horton & Me!

Tony Horton & Me

I finally got a hold of the recording of the private call we had with Tony Horton (the MAN himself behind P90X), and Carl Daikeler the CEO of Team Beachbody (this guy made it ALL possible).

I’ve gotta admit, this has got to be one of the biggest highlights of me being a Beachbody Coach so far (the top highlight just being the fact that I get to spend my days changing lives AND getting paid to do so…doesn’t get any better then that in my book). After the call I just couldn’t stop smiling for days! :-) Go ahead and take the time the listen to this call now. I know you’ll get something out of it that will help you on your journey…

Carl Daikeler & Me

Carl Daikeler & Me

During the call you’ll discover-

  • Does Tony Horton have cheat meals (the answer might surprise you)?
  • What happens when you get injured? Should you stop working out?
  • What are Tony Horton’s & Carl Daikeler’s top 2 favorite life changing books?
  • What is Tony Horton’s & Carl Daikeler’s favorite exercise?
  • And lots more…

So go ahead and grab a healthy snack, sit back, and press play…

So what was the biggest thing you took away from the call? There was something pretty big that I took away, but I’m going to hold it back because I’d love to hear what you learned from the call.

Does P90X Work

Does P90X Work

I get people leaving comments and emailing me all the time asking me, “Does P90X work?” I get all kinds of variations of this “Does P90X work” question such as…Does P90X work if I don’t follow the nutrition guide? Does P90X work if I’m not trying to lose weight? Etc, etc, etc.

So, in this post I want to give you the low down on this P90X program. I’m going to answer some of the most common “Does P90X work” questions and most importantly, I’ll give you the scoop on whether P90X will for for YOU!

The Big Question Of The Day: Does P90X Work?

The short and sweet answer to “Does P90X work,” is – YES! But…and that is a massively BIG BUT! :-) It depends on YOU! It depends on if you give the program 100%. Giving 100% to the program means-

  1. That you do the workouts daily as the program is laid out (not cherry picking which workouts you do, or putting together your own random schedule),
  2. You do your best during the workouts, and
  3. You follow the P90X Nutrition Guide or some other healthy eating plan that works for you.

That is giving the program 100%. So you’re probably thinking…ok, so if I don’t give 100% then I won’t get results? For most people, that isn’t the case. P90X is a super extreme program. Just doing the workouts alone usually gives people insane results. However, if you want to get the best possible results, you want to get the EXTREME results (I’m talking results fit to be in the P90X infomercial), then you need to give it your all and give 100%.

Does P90X Work For Me?

I’ll be 100% honest with you. When I did P90X for the first time I didn’t give 100%. While I did do the workouts each day and give 100% to them, I didn’t follow the P90X Nutrition Guide like I should have. I cut out the junk and I tried to eat more healthy, but I could have done a lot better. Does P90X work for me? Did I get good results with P90X that 1st round? Yea I did…

P90X Round 1 Results - Does P90X Work?

P90X Round 1 Results - Does P90X Work?

During that round of P90X I lost 11 pounds, I got a six pack, I lose 2 inches in my waist, and I reduced my body fat by about 4.5%. So while my results were really good, they definitely could have been better. But you know what? I’m happy and content with those results.

Starting P90X and going through that first round (not to sound cliché) truly changed my life. I went from being a skinny fat, incredibly lazy, junk food monster eating guy, to a super fit, super healthy dude. I was the laziest person you’d ever meet before P90X, but now people know me as that fitness dude. I even made a business out of it and helping people is what I do full time! I never, ever in my wildest dreams imagined I’d be helping others to get fit and healthy full time.

So yes, P90X works for me, and it has changed my life!

Does P90X Work If I Don’t Follow The Nutrition Guide?

P90X Nutrition Guide - Does P90X Work?

P90X Nutrition Guide - Does P90X Work?

This is a popular does P90X work question that I get all the time (maybe once a week or more). To answer this question, yes P90X can still work for you if you don’t follow the P90X Nutrition Guide. However, nutrition IS just as important as your P90X workouts. It’s actually 50% of the equation (doing your workouts is the other 50%). So if you’re not following the P90X Nutrition Guide then you need to follow some other similar eating plan.

I did an entire blog post on this explaining the importance of following the P90X Nutrition Guide. I also gave 2 alternatives to the P90X Nutrition Guide in that blog post. You can check it out here- P90X Nutrition Guide.

Does P90X Work If I Don’t Follow ANY Eating Plan?

Ok Jonathan, I’m not going to follow the P90X Nutrition Guide, or any other alternative…So will P90X work for me? Maybe…maybe not! Like I mentioned earlier in this blog post doing the P90X workouts alone may give you results since they are extreme workouts. However, I couldn’t tell you what kind of results that you’d get. Your nutrition is critical and it can destroy any results that you would have gotten had you follow the Nutrition Guide or something similar.

Just suck it up, drop the excuses, and do whatever you need to do to cut out the junk, the soda, sweets, fried food, etc. Replace the junk with healthy alternatives. If you’re not willing to at least do that then you’re wasting your time!

Does P90X Work If I’m NOT Trying To Lose Weight?

Yep! P90X was designed for anyone…whether you are trying to lose weight, maintain your weight and just tone up, or to even bulk up and add some muscle. Inside the P90X Fitness Guide that you get when you buy P90X, they tell you how to do the program so you can accomplish whatever goals you are after. On top of that, Tony Horton (the guy behind P90X) re-iterates what you need to do to accomplish your goals (whatever they may be) during the actual workouts themselves.

Lets Wrap Things Up – Does P90X Work?

YES! BUT…to what degree it works depends on you! If you want extreme results…you want to lose as much weight as possible, you want to get a ripped as possible, or you just want to maintain your weight and get as toned up as possible, then give 100% and follow the program as it’s designed.

Just think about and imagine what accomplishing your goals will do for your life. Will hitting your goals allow you to play with your kids longer? Will it make you for once in your life feel good about your body? Will it make your friends just totally envy your hot body? What will having a healthy, fit body do for you? Think about that…

Lastly, I’m going tell you how you can truly get EXTREME results with P90X. I’m talking about results that are worthy to be in a P90X infomercial. So without further ado, let’s get ROCKIN!

Should You Follow The P90X Diet Plan?

Yes, yes, and YES! Did I say yes to the question above? :-) If you’re SERIOUS about getting results then you MUST follow the P90X Diet Plan. I’m not going to harp on that point. You need to follow it. Period.

As you keep reading my P90X Diet Plan post, you’ll soon find out that I have a confession to make. Keep on reading and you’ll find out what it is.

How Do You Follow The P90X Diet Plan?

I’m not going to go too in depth on the specifics of how to follow the P90X Diet Plan, since it’s all laid out in the Nutrition Guide that comes with P90X. Read the P90X Diet Plan from cover to cover. Read it a second time if you have to. Then follow the instructions at the beginning of the book to determine your Phase, chose your approach, and determine your Nutrition Level.

Also, you don’t necessarily have to make all the recipes and only eat what’s in the P90X Diet Plan (frozen food and smoothies are my best friends). It is meant as a guide to give you some recipes and foods that you should focus on eating as you’re going through P90X. You’ll obviously though want to avoid the junk- sweets, fried food, soda, etc.

Key Things You MUST Follow In The P90X Diet Plan

The 2 key things you MUST follow if you want to see results is the following-

1) You need to determine your Phase AND stick with the nutritional proportions each day for that Phase. There are 3 phases- Fat Shredder (Phase 1), Energy Booster (Phase 2), or Endurance Maximizer (Phase 3). For people doing P90X for the first time, you should start with the Fat Shredder Phase so you can shed the body fat.

Here’s the nutritional portions you should be following in each phase-

  • Fat Shredder Phase 1- 50% protein, 30% carbohydrate, 20% fat
  • Energy Booster Phase 2- 40% protein, 40% carbohydrate, 20% fat
  • Endurance Maximizer Phase 3- 20% protein, 60% carbohydrate, 20% fat

For me personally since I’ve already been through P90X multiple times, I’m currently following a modification of the Endurance Maximizer Phase. I’m currently sticking to 25% protein, 55% carbohydrates, and 20% fat. I have a very, very small amount of fat I want to get rid of though, so I may jump back to the Fat Shredder Phase for a few weeks, and then go back to the Endurance Maximizer Phase so I can start bulking up like crazy (and add 10 to 20 pounds of muscle).

*Again, I can’t say this enough, but READ the P90X Diet Plan in it’s entirety. There’s no possible way I can give out all the details in the book since it’s 100+ pages (mainly of recipes and such).

2) Determine your daily calories AND stick with that number of calories each day. This is super duper critical. If you’re eating too many calories and trying to lose weight, then you won’t lose weight. If you eat too little calories and you’re trying to bulk up, then you won’t bulk up. So figuring out the number of daily calories you should be taking in each day, and actually sticking with that is key to your success.

I made 2 separate blog posts that walk you through figuring out your number of calories AND the tracking aspect of things (which is just as important). You can check them out here-

Also, if your dog crapped all over your P90X Diet Plan, aliens came to your house in the middle of the night and stole it, or you just misplaced it, then check out this post for a few alternatives (towards the end of the post)- P90X Nutrition Guide.

I Didn’t Initially Follow The P90X Diet Plan

P90X Round 1 Results

P90X Round 1 Results

I’ve gotta be honest. My first couple of rounds of P90X, I didn’t follow the P90X Diet Plan like I should have. I figured out the # of calories I should have been taking in and I tried to take in at least 1 gram of protein per pound of my body weight daily. I also cut out the junk- no soda (except Coke zero), no sweets, no fried food, etc.

Lastly, I read the Abs Diet by David Zinczenko, and my wife and I tried to focus on eating foods from that book (there’s some super simple recipes in there).

That’s all I did. I didn’t even track the # of calories I was taking in each day so who knows if I was even sticking with my daily number.

Did I still get good results? Yes, because I cut out the junk and I shifted my diet to a higher protein diet. HOWEVER, I could have gotten EXTREME results (I’m talkin P90X infomercial results) had I followed the P90X Diet Plan. To check out what I ate during that first round, you can go here – P90X workout calendar (I think it wasn’t until day 9 that I started to write out what I ate each day).

I could have been one ripped dude by this point, but it really wasn’t until recently that I got serious about following the P90X Diet Plan, sticking with one of the 3 Phases, and tracking everything. Now I’m down to about 7% body fat with a small tad bit to go before I move onto becoming the HULK! :-)

Do You Want “Good” Or EXTREME Results? – P90X Diet Plan

So, you have a couple options. You can kind of sort of follow the P90X Diet Plan like I did my first couple of rounds and get good results. Or you can follow the P90X Diet Plan like you should and get EXTREME results. I’m to the point now where I don’t want to settle for “good” results. I want EXTREME results! I want to get “super sonic” fit as Tony Horton says.

The choice is yours! Decide. Commit (aka… JUST DO IT) and SUCCEED!

P90X vs P90X2…is one better then the other? Should you jump straight into P90X2 versus starting with P90X? Those are just a few of the questions I’ve gotten with the release of P90X2. There is no doubt that P90X2 is going to be an incredible program, but does that mean it’s for everyone? Absolutely not!

In this post I’m going to give you a P90X vs P90X2 comparison so you can determine which one is right for you.

P90X vs P90X2 From The Man Himself

Watch this video first from the man himself, Tony Horton. He gives an awesome P90X vs P90X2 comparison-

Just seeing the P90X vs P90X2 video from Tony Horton FIRES me up even more for P90X2 and gets me even more anxious for it to arrive at my doorstep. If after seeing that, you know P90X2 is right for you, then you can click the following button to get yourself a copy-

[button color=”red” border=”#555″ button size=”medium” style=”tick” link=”https://trek2befit.com/go/p90x2″ window=”yes”]Click Here To Order P90X2[/button] *BONUS – You’ll get 2 FREE workout DVD’s when you order through my site.

If you still have no idea which one is right for you at this point, then keep on reading since I’m going to give you a comparison chart and then go into a P90X vs P90X2 Q & A.

P90X vs P90X2 Comparison Chart

Here’s a P90X vs P90X2 comparison chart that I put together that covers some of the basic differences between P90X and P90X2-

P90X P90X2
Goal Of Program
Get you into the best shape of your life Increase your athletic performance, which will as a byproduct get you into even better shape
Style Of Workouts
Muscle confusion with resistance, plyometric, cardio, and yoga training Same as P90X, but adds in P.A.P. training (Post Activation Potentiation)
# Of Phases

Workout Schedule

Minimum Equipment Needed
Additional Recommended Equipment
    Everything recommended for P90X plus-
Recommended Supplements

As you can see in the above P90X vs P90X2 comparison chart, they have basically enhanced the original P90X and given us a whole new extreme program to do that incorporates the latest in sports science. Plus they’ve given us the weekend to do whatever the heck we want (go rock climbing, hiking, whatever), shortened the Yoga, and added more options to the P90X2 nutrition guide.

Lastly, for the travelers they’ve made sure to show us modifications for all of the exercises in P90X2 so you can literally just do the program in a hotel room with some resistance bands.

P90X vs P90X2 Q & A

So now I want to get into some common P90X vs P90X2 questions that I get so hopefully I can help you decide which is right for you.

It’s been years since I worked out, which program should I do? – P90X vs P90X2

Then you definitely should start with P90X vs P90X2 or even start with Power 90. To determine if you should do P90X or Power 90, go to this post and watch the video – P90 workout.

I have done the Insanity workout, but I haven’t done P90X, can I do P90X2? – P90X vs P90X2

If you can handle the extreme in Insanity, then you should be prepared for the extreme in P90X2. Insanity is a whole different kind of extreme (it’s an all out cardio based program), but despite that, you should be able to get through P90X2 after Insanity.

Is P90X2 better then P90X? – P90X vs P90X2

P90X2 is an enhancement from the original P90X and builds upon the original program. While there are some improvements (more options in the nutrition guide, etc.), I wouldn’t say that one is better then the other. I’ll still be incorporating the P90X workouts into my workout routine after I do a few rounds of P90X2.

How many rounds of P90X should I do before I do P90X2? – P90X vs P90X2

It’s really up to you. If P90X2 had been out after my first round of P90X, then I would have gone ahead and moved onto P90X2. It’s really a personal preference and depends on you.

P90X vs P90X2 – Let’s Wrap Things Up

I hope my “P90X vs P90x2” post has given you a better idea on which program you should do. P90X2 is not for beginners and should only be attempted by people who have gone through the original P90X or another extreme program (like Insanity). So don’t be a hero and try to immediately jump into P90X2. There’s a very high probability that you’ll injure yourself by doing that, so don’t do it! Start with P90X or even Power 90.

P90X Legs And Back

P90X Legs And Back

P90X Legs and Back used to be one of the P90X workouts that I hated the most…yep I’ll admit it! :-) Why did I hate this workout so much? The same reason I disliked the P90X Plyometrics workout. I had puny little legs and the P90x Legs and Back workout would crush my legs! Not only would I be huffing and puffing (struggling to catch my breath) as I went through the exercises, but by the end of this workout it’d be painful to go up and down the stairs in our home.

For a lot of people like myself, P90X Legs and Back is a tough workout. You may even dread this workout like I used to. With time I have learned to love P90X Legs and Back (ok, maybe not LOVE, but let’s just say like). While it still isn’t one of my favorite workouts, it’s a workout that works my weakest points so I NEED this workout more then any of the other P90X workouts.

In this post I’m going to give you 5 tips that will help you learn to like P90X Legs and Back if you currently dread it like I did. If you already enjoy and like P90X Legs and Back then these tips should help you to love it even more.

5 Tips That Will Make You Have Happy Dreams About P90X Legs and Back :-)

#1 – P90X Legs and Back Tips

Hold back a little until you learn your limits. It is so easy to go into P90X and just go ALL out with the workouts. I did that during my very first week of P90X and I was so sore to the point where I almost quit the program. It is ok to hold back a little bit, and I do highly recommend you do that especially during your first few weeks. Most people don’t know their limits going into P90X and push themselves too hard. Hold back a little bit during the first few weeks until you know your limits and then BRING IT every single day thereafter.

#2 – P90X Legs and Back Tips

P90X Legs And Back Pull Ups

P90X Legs And Back Pull Ups

If you start doing too many reps add some weight to the equation. For me personally, I got to the point where I was doing 15 to 20+ pull ups during “P90X Legs and Back” (the pull ups were my strong point, and my legs/cardio were my weak points). My reps were getting so high that I started dreading the pull ups. I’d also get so focused on the number of reps that I was doing that my form was getting pretty bad. I eventually decided to buy a weighted vest to wear during all the exercises and that dropped my reps down dramatically. Simply adding some weight to the equation helped me to stop dreading the pull ups and really look forward to them again.

Feel free to check out my review on the weighted vest that I use here- MiR Weighted Vest Review

#3 – P90X Legs and Back Tips

Stop focusing on what you dislike about this workout, and focus on what you enjoy. I know, I know…I’m sure you’ve heard something like this before (focus on the positive not the negative), BUT it works! If there is anything you enjoy about P90X Legs and Back or any SUCCESS you’ve had with it, then focus on that. Don’t dwell on the negative and keep telling yourself how much you hate P90X Legs and Back! I used to do that, and it doesn’t do anything but make you hate it more, and then as a result the quality of your workout will suffer.

#4 – P90X Legs and Back Tips

Just suck it up and DO IT! Tony Horton says this either during P90X Legs and Back or during another P90X workout. Sometimes you do just have to SUCK IT UP and just get er done! There are many days where I DON’T want to workout or push play, but I do it anyways. Why? Because I’m 100% dedicated to accomplishing my goals and committed to continually getting fitter, healthier and stronger. The ONLY way that I’ll be able to do that is if I keep pushing play, and on some days I just have to SUCK IT UP and do it! So do EXACTLY that!

#5 – P90X Legs and Back Tips

Get as much support and outside motivation that you can get. We’re ALL human and no matter what kind of shape you’re in we ALL need support and some extra motivation from time to time (including myself). Do yourself a favor and create a FREE Team Beachbody account by clicking here. You’ll not only get me as you personal success Coach to see that you succeed and stick with P90X, but you’ll also get access to a butt load of free tools and a community of people going through P90X just like you. It takes 1 minute and 37 seconds to create your free account, so just do it, and TAKE advantage of it!

P90X Legs and Back Final Thoughts…

Whatever you do, just stick with P90X Legs and Back, and keep pushing play every single day no matter what. Stay focused on the end goal. Your end goal MUST be deeper then “just trying to lose weight” or “trying to add some muscle.” That isn’t a deep enough reason that’s going to get you through P90X.

Think about that and spend some time figuring out your “Why” for doing P90X. Write it down once you figure it out, push play, and just do it!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post or got some value out of it. If you did, then SHARE IT by clicking those social media links. Lastly, as always, leave any comments, questions, successes, struggles below in the comments box. I WANT to hear from you!
